Fashionchick.co.uk are giving one UK fashion blogger the chance to attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. To be in with a chance, all we gotta do is write about an outfit that wouldn’t look out-of-place at Fashion Week.

Three words immediately jumped to the forefront of my mind. Black. White. Silver. And then a million other words and thoughts followed suit.

While checking out the amazing street style at London Fashion week last February, I realised that my style was evolving. The outfits that stood out, the outfits that I most readily remember three months later, are not the look-at-me bright colours and print clashes. But rather, the sporty tailoring and neutral colour palettes. A swoon-worthy coat or incredible pair of shoes was all that was required to elevate a simple outfit.

And those ideas have been making their way into my wardrobe & my style. Quality basics are key. Throw on with a statement clutch or masculine watch, and I’m good to go. What I also love about the outfit that I’ve assembled is the juxtaposition between elegant and edgy between a cool leather jacket and a pretty midi skirt.
